Our Story

Built to Develop Bankable Energy Projects

Solatriq Energy was established to turn Africa's growing demand for reliable power into investable renewable energy projects. We originate opportunities, secure the fundamentals and structure projects for financing, construction and long-term operation. Our initial portfolio is being developed in Zambia, with a broader ambition across selected African markets.

01

Clear Development Focus

We develop utility-scale renewable energy projects with a clear path from origination to financial close, construction and operation.

02

African Market Focus

We pursue opportunities where power demand, industrial growth and renewable resources create a strong case for new generation.

03

Local Execution

We combine on-the-ground market knowledge with international technical, financial and development standards.

04

Built for Scale

Our project-by-project approach creates a repeatable development platform capable of expanding across multiple African markets.

What We Bring

More Than Project Origination

We focus on removing the barriers that prevent good energy opportunities from becoming financeable projects. Our role is to bring the critical pieces together early, creating projects that investors, lenders and delivery partners can evaluate with confidence.

Development Before Capital

We advance land, permitting, grid, offtake and technical work before seeking major construction capital.

Bankability from the Start

Commercial and technical decisions are made with financing requirements in mind, not added as an afterthought.

Local Access, International Standards

Local market knowledge is combined with the governance, technical discipline and reporting expected by institutional partners.

Aligned Partnerships

We work with investors, lenders, EPC contractors, governments and communities to create projects where interests are aligned for the long term.

How We Work

How We Build Investable Projects

Originate with Discipline

We prioritise opportunities with credible demand, viable grid access, suitable land and a clear commercial case.

De-Risk Early

Key development risks are addressed before significant capital is committed, including land, permitting, grid, environmental and offtake requirements.

Structure for Finance

Projects are developed with the requirements of equity investors, DFIs and commercial lenders considered from the outset.

Build Local Value

We engage local stakeholders and seek to create lasting economic value through employment, skills, procurement and infrastructure.

Zambia landscape

Our First Market

Zambia: The Foundation of Our Growth

Zambia provides Solatriq with a strong starting point for building a scalable African renewable energy platform. Growing electricity demand, mining and industrial activity, strong renewable resources and increasing private-sector participation create a compelling environment for new generation capacity.

Our initial projects establish the development experience, partnerships and operating platform from which we intend to pursue opportunities in selected African markets.

1,000+ MW
Structural power deficit

Zambia's electricity supply consistently falls short of demand, with load shedding affecting industry and households.

IPP Policy
Independent power producers

Government policy actively supports private sector participation in power generation through competitive procurement.

2,500+ kWh
Solar irradiance per m2/year

Zambia's solar resource is among the strongest in the region, supporting high capacity factors for utility-scale projects.

Development Process

From Opportunity to Operating Asset

01

Site Identification

Solar resource mapping, grid proximity analysis and land tenure review.

02

Feasibility

Technical, environmental and financial feasibility studies.

03

Permitting

Environmental and social impact assessment, grid connection application and regulatory approvals.

04

Project Finance

Structuring for DFI and commercial lender requirements. Power purchase agreement negotiation.

05

Construction

EPC procurement, construction management and commissioning.

06

Operations

Long-term asset management and performance monitoring.

Our Ambition

500 MW by 2030

Our ambition is to build a diversified portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Africa, beginning with our initial pipeline in Zambia.

We are building the platform deliberately: one bankable project, one strong partnership and one market at a time.
